GLSL:
Our U9/U10 girls teams and U9/U10 mixed teams (depending on registration numbers) may play in the Goulbourn Lanark Soccer League this year. Our goal is to provide the best possible soccer experience for our players. Our teams will continue to be community based, where there are enough players. Every effort will be made to minimize travel.
General Information:
Team sizes are limited to 10 to 14 children; smaller teams would have trouble having enough players for games later in the summer, larger teams create the likelihood of having a third shift of players which provides insufficient game time for the kids. As a result some communities may have too many or too few players. In these situations it may be necessary to assign a player or players to their “second choice” community. This is done based on registration date and location. In communities where numbers warrant, teams will be formed during one or more leveling nights. Members of the WCSC Board will run a series of drills with the children in an effort to create relatively balanced teams. At the end of leveling night the players will meet their coaches and receive their jerseys.
Coaches and Assistant Coaches:
If you have not yet done so, please consider getting involved as a coach or assistant coach for your child’s team. Teams cannot start the season without a designated “Coach”. You don’t need to know the game; you just have to learn it faster than the children! All coaches will be provided with lesson plans for each session and all volunteers are invited to our Coaches Information Meeting. If you’re not sure, why not contact the Program Director. We look forward to a fun season!

Important Polices:
All players, parents and spectators are required to abide by the WCSC Code of Conduct.
Jewellery: No item of jewellery of any sort will be allowed on the field of play, even if it is taped. This includes but is not limited to necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, leather or rubber bands or visible body piercings. Loose beaded hair is also not permitted unless tied back or covered by a net. This rule follows Law 4 issued by the Canadian Soccer Association and is in place to ensure the safety of everyone on the field. Please, DO NOT GET YOUR CHILD ANY PIERCING DURING THE SOCCER SEASON, THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY WITH STUDS IN.
Refunds: Players notifying admin@wcsc.ca before May 10 will receive a full refund less a $25 administration fee. After May 10, the Club may provide a pro-rated refund if a player must cease playing for medical reasons. A doctor's statement may be required.
BEFORE YOU REGISTER FOR ANY WCSC TRYOUT/ASSESSMENT/TEAM/PROGRAM: Rowan's Law information and linked material (on home page) to be viewed -- there is a mandatory question regarding Rowan's Law in all registration forms.
