General Information
The U6 Division is designed to ensure a smooth transition from Micro Soccer to House League. U5 and U6 players will be introduced to the game of soccer once a week on a field sized to their needs. This earlier introduction to playing against an opposing team will ensure players are ready to move to the full house league structure starting at the U7/U8 level. In U5/U6 your child will be introduced to playing against an opposing team in a 4 vs 4 format (or 3 vs 3 depending on attendance). The field and goal size are smaller than a regular mini-field to accommodate the young players. Each meeting will consist of a 30 minute practice session followed by a 30 minute game. Players will meet once per week for the duration of the season. Coaches and Assistant Coaches
Given the small size of the U6 teams we will need a LOT of volunteer coaches as well as assistants. If you have not yet done so, please consider getting involved as a coach or assistant coach for your child’s team. You don’t need to know the game; you just have to learn it faster than the children! All coaches will be provided with lesson plans for each session. Coaches are not required to follow the plans, if they feel comfortable creating their own they are encouraged to work with their team on any skill they wish. All volunteers, including: coaches, assistant coaches and interested parents are invited to our Micro & U6 Team Officials Conference prior to the start of the season to answer any questions you may have. If you’re not sure, why not talk to the division coordinator.
