Age groupings have shifted, particularly for our recreational teams. The rationale for these changes is to ensure that youth players get more time on the ball and are involved in the play, to prioritize skill acquisition, maximize game participation and maintain the enjoyment of the game. Where it is necessary to combine age groups, we are moving from U6, 8, 10, 12 to U7, 9, 11, 13. Micro will include U4 and U5, groups being divided depending on the registration numbers in each community. More information on Canada Soccer Grassroots (U4-U13) Standards can be found here.
